Fear Grips Community as Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen Goes Missing After Husband’s Murder, Daughter’s Abduction

An atmosphere of fear and uncertainty has enveloped a Ugboha Easn Community of South East Local Government Area of Edo State following the disappearance of Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen, a mother of three, whose husband, Mr. Ogolowa Ikhide Emmanuel, was brutally killed and their young daughter remains missing months after a mysterious kidnapping with no ransom demand.

Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen has reportedly gone into hiding after her husband, Ogolowa Ikhide Emmanuel, was abducted and later found dead, while their daughter, identified as Ogolowa Eki Light, has neither been seen nor heard from since their abduction.

The disturbing sequence of events has heightened anxiety among residents, who fear the case may be linked to targeted violence rather than conventional kidnapping for ransom.

According to information gathered by our correspondent, Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen, had earlier been kidnapped and later released after a ransom of ₦10 million was allegedly paid. Barely a month after her release, her husband Ogolowa Ikhide Emmanuel, and their daughter were abducted by unknown gunmen on February 10, 2025. Unlike her own ordeal, the abductors reportedly made no contact and issued no ransom demands after seizing her husband and daughter.

Despite intensive police investigations and search efforts, neither the husband nor the child was located. The situation took a tragic turn on April 15, 2025, when Husband’s lifeless body was discovered at the Ugboha market junction in the early hours of the morning. His daughter, remains missing, with no indication of whether she is alive or dead.

Sources said a few days after identifying her husband’s body, Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen, reported to the Edo Police Area Command, that she was being followed and threatened by armed men who concealed their identities. She allegedly told the police that the men had been trailing her movements despite the loss of her husband and the continued uncertainty over her daughter’s fate.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that her husband was allegedly associated with the Black Axe confraternity, suggesting that the killing and abduction may have been connected to cult-related reprisals rather than a ransom-driven crime. The allegation, however, has not been officially confirmed by the police.

Further deepening the mystery, the neighbour disclosed that Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen’s House and shop were set on fire along with the Church beside the house as a result of her report to the police station. She said Queen and her three daughters, Ogolowa Aimalohi Kendra, Ogolowa Atiugie Ogolowa, and Ogolowa Eki Light, have been missing since April 21, 2025, after the house burned down.

There are growing speculations within the community that the same group responsible for the husband’s killing and the daughter’s abduction may be targeting the rest of the family, or that they may have fled the area in fear for their lives.

As of the time of filing this report, Oifoghe Ogolowa Queen’s whereabouts remain unknown, while residents continue to live in fear amid concerns over rising targeted killings and child abductions without ransom demands. The police are yet to issue an official statement on the latest developments, but community members are calling for intensified security measures and a thorough investigation to unravel the troubling case.
