NBSA president Mr. Uche Odozor on Sunday, 27th April 2025 at the National Stadium, Abuja commended all the Softballers for their efforts, just as he said: “Is an incredible game, you have come out here today very well prepared, but the best team has won, so we give it to Kaduna, kada giants”, NBSA announces.
His words: but I want to commend you all for all your efforts is an incredible game you came out here today very well prepared but the best team won like I said earlier, we have the 10th of May, as the world Baseball and Softball day, I will be speaking with the managers, and the Executives to see the possibility of bringing you back on that day, this is an invitation for you to come back for that weekend of baseball funfair and baseball, Mr. hope to be better prepared so that we can celebrate baseball and Softball, which you represent on this same pitch “, NBSA Uche Odozor states.
Standard-Times Nigeria correspondent reported that NBSA president Mr Uche Odozor expressed happiness to the Kaduna Giants and Diplomatic Dodgers in the Softball zonal qualifier game played on Sunday, 27th April 2025, in which, Kaduna Giants emerged as the winner, with the following results :
The first game was Kad. 31 Vs. Abuja 2, and the second game was Kad. 11 vs. Abuja 2.” The Kada Giants softball team has 9 players, and Diplomatic Dodgers Abuja has 9 players; the game started at exactly 11:53am.” The NBSA umpire Gana Mohammed Abdulkadir announced.
The NBSA president Mr Uche Odozor promised the Softballers and baseballers that it will only get better, just as he said he believed that they would all see and witness the baseball that we all aspired to be, just as he assured the places like Japan, Mexico, South Africa, the US, South Korea, Canada and whatnot they all aspire to be”, NBSA assured
Further, he advised: ” the Softballers to respect their parents at home and be clean in all they do, emphasized how clean the pitch is, and remember when you go back home apply these values apply this discipline, according to the NBSA president Mr. Uche Odozor their religious values are very important, don’t come to baseball and go back and your parents will be regretting why you are exposed to this sports, being you Christian, being you Muslims, being you a non-believer, we want you to go back home and behave in a way that your parents will say something special about my child and they would want to have you go out again and play, baseballers are special people”, NBSA president states.
The NBSA president Mr Uche Odozor, thanked the NBSA executives and officials present”, He concluded.
The NBSA treasurer, Mr. Oyebanje Akin, from Kaduna Giants celebrates all the Softballers saying it is awesome and is quite a lot for Nigerian baseball and Softball to have you around both Kaduna Giants and Diplomatic Dodgers, he collaborated with the NBSA presidents earlier statement, he added:” All these drives, all these developmental strides we are putting in place as a federation is to bring you up and under the leadership of the NBSA president Mr. Uche Odozor is to give you the best, “, Oyebanje Akin said.
Mr. Oyebanje craves the indulgence of the Diplomatic Dodgers to prepare ahead of May 10th, 2025; just as he said, baseball doesn’t breed recalcitrant children; Softball builds intelligent children so that they can contribute to the society at large”, NBSA Oyebanje concluded.
The Softball zonal qualifier game played on Sunday, 27th April 2025, was well watched by some Diplomats in Nigeria, with officials Ambrose Ozimede, Kaduna coach Tweak Sunday, Kaduna, and Coach Sanni from Abuja in attendance.
