Recently, the Commissioner for Information in Anambra State, Dr. Law Mefor, made a statement regarding the demolition of the Innoson showroom, damaging some of his vehicles without notification, which created controversy.
Reacting to the Commissioner’s remarks, a Concerned citizen and one of the Stakeholders in the Nnewi community in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Amobi Okonkwo (Anunebe Nnewi), has said Mefor’s statement remained baseless.
“Dr. Law Mefor’s recent statement disparaging Innoson Motors Limited (IVM) is a brazen affront to the nation’s indigenous manufacturing prowess.
“His assertions are nothing short of calumny, bereft of factual basis, and reek of malicious intent.
“The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has wisely adopted IVM vehicles as their official vehicles, proof of the brand’s durability and comfort on Nigerian roads.
This endorsement by a reputable federal agency speaks volumes about IVM’s excellence.
“Dr. Mefor’s authority to critique IVM products must be queried, especially when a recognized agency like FRSC has bestowed such distinction upon the brand.
“His remarks are an affront to the nation’s industrial aspirations and an insult to the ingenuity of Nigerian entrepreneurs.
“Dr. Mefor, who is not a customer of IVM, must retract his statements and tender a public apology to the CEO of Innoson Motors Limited for his scurrilous remarks.
“IVM’s reputation as a premier automotive manufacturer remains unblemished, and its partnership with FRSC stands as a shining attribute to its quality and reliability,” he said.
