Niger partners with project C.U.R.E to strengthening healthcare Infrastructure

A team of medical professionals lead by the Niger state Commissioner, Ministry of Primary Health Care, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, his Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Gana, conducted a health facility assessment at PHC Gwada in Shiroro and PHC Zubakpere in Paikoro Local government councils of the state.

This initiative is part of a strategic collaboration with Project C.U.R.E, a prominent U.S.-based nonprofit organization.

This week-long assessment involves a thorough evaluation of 20 healthcare facilities (15 primary and 5 secondary) across 12 Local Government Areas of the state.

The local government councils include Bida, Lavun, Mokwa, Lapai, Shiroro, Paikoro, Chanchaga, Kontagora, Rafi, Rijau, Suleja, and Tafa.

The goal is to identify critical gaps in healthcare delivery and ensure that life-saving medical equipment and essential supplies are provided to the communities.

Project C.U.R.E, renowned for its humanitarian efforts, specializes in delivering medical aid to regions facing poverty, disasters, and conflict.

Through this collaboration, Niger State aims to enhance the quality of care in its health facilities, ensuring timely and adequate medical support for patients.

Leading the initiative alongside Dr. Dangana and Dr. Gana are key members of the State team, including Dr. Bello Tukur and Dr. Murtala Muhammad Bagana, while the Project C.U.R.E delegation is represented by Babs Waldman and Bonnie Thomas.

This assessment marks a critical step towards sustainable healthcare improvement, aligning with the commitment of the Governor of the State, to provide accessible, equitable, and efficient medical services for all residents.
