World Cup Qualifiers: Super Eagles to Open Camp on Sunday

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will commence preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi.

The team is set to arrive in Kigali on Sunday, March 16, ahead of their much-anticipated fixture at Amahoro Stadium on Friday, March 21.

Head coach Eric Chelle has named a provisional squad of 39 players, featuring a mix of domestic and international talents. These players will report to camp from their respective clubs as they vie for a spot in the final squad for the match.

Following the Rwanda clash, the Super Eagles will shift their focus to their next qualifier against Zimbabwe’s Warriors. This encounter is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25. By the end of the week, the coaching staff will finalize the squad, reducing it to 23 players.

Currently, Nigeria is yet to secure a victory in the World Cup qualifying campaign. After four matches, they have recorded three draws and one defeat, leaving them in fifth place in Group C with just three points.

With their World Cup hopes at stake, the Super Eagles must capitalize on these upcoming matches to improve their standings and boost their chances of qualification.
