King Charles III Credits Davido for His Love of Pidgin English

British monarch King Charles III has shared his admiration for Nigerian artist Davido, stating that the singer’s music played a key role in his growing appreciation for Pidgin English.

During the premiere episode of The King’s Music Room on Apple Music, which aired on Monday, King Charles expressed his enthusiasm for learning the language and expressed a desire to speak Pidgin during his next visit to Nigeria.

While discussing his diverse taste in music, he highlighted Kante, a song by Davido featuring Fave, as one of his favorites.

“Davido has made me love Pidgin English. I hope to speak it when I next visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it is gaining global recognition,” the monarch remarked.

Reacting to the statement, Davido reposted the video on his Instagram story, acknowledging the royal mention with a shout-out to the British royal family.
