40-years-old Joseph Ukaegbu in hiding over IPOB agitation

Nowadays,in Nigeria there are growing calls by several groups agitating for secession from Nigeria. These agitations is as a result of decades of marginalization, economic sabotage, ethnic bigotry etc.

In 2014, IPOB (Indigenous people of Biafra) was established for creation of Sovereign state of Biafra. IPOB activities includes distribution of flyers, awareness-raising among the populace, marches and other gatherings. Despite the groups actions have been largely non-violent,it was banned and proscribed by Nigeria government as a terrorist Organization.

Emphatically, the Nigerian government declare a massive crackdown on members of the group through her security agencies such as the Army, Police, DSS etc. These clashes often result to killings/deaths, arrests/abductions etc of IPOB members.

Since August 2016 till date, at various locations in Eastern Nigeria; National High School Aba, Abia state, and Onitsha in Anambra state including other locations in South east Nigeria, many of IPOB members have been killed, some arrested and still in detention, while some were lucky to escape and are still in hiding as security operatives are in search for them due to the groups proscription by the Nigeria state.

Mr David Faure told our corresondant of one Mr. JOSEPH UKAEGBU, a member of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who was lucky to escape being killed and arrested by the security agencies on many occasion. Security agencies are still in search of him. He has been targeted severally by security agencies for his active involvement with the group.

Mr. Joseph Ukaegbu house have been raided by security agencies and materials belonging to the group have often be found in his house, His whereabout is unknown since the military joint forces invaded his house on the 29th June 2024 when he returned from UK. Anybody that may have him in their custody should please report to the nearest authorities for immediate apprehension and will be rewarded.
