A man who was kidnapped in December 2024 and later freed after his family paid a ransom has been abducted again—this time with a tragic outcome. His lifeless body was discovered on the outskirts of the city early Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, sending shockwaves through the community.
The victim, identified as Okaka Augustine, was first kidnapped two months ago by an unidentified gang, shortly after donating a Toyota Sienna car to the local police. His family reportedly paid a substantial ransom for his release.
However, just weeks after regaining his freedom, armed men stormed his home and abducted him again.
Authorities launched an immediate search, but on Monday, February 24, 2025, his body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a remote area. Investigators suspect the same group may have been responsible for both kidnappings.
