Pandemonium as political thugs dissipate the gathering of youth in the Eputu community in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria on 12th January 2024.
The community of Eputu, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos state, was thrown into dismay and trouble when political thugs affiliated with the ruling party (All Progressive Congress) in the community inflicted horror on the youths of the community.
According to eyewitnesses, the thugs attacked youths in their place of gathering for their weekly meeting. This attack has left many youths injured and some hospitalized.
It was recalled that this type of attack has been constant in the community since the 2023 General Elections. Some of the officials of other opposition parties (Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party) have been attacked severely and threatened, Mr. Ababosa Steph who was the Mobilization Officer of the PDP was killed in cold blood and Mr. Tajudeen Arapaja of the Labor Party was also killed on 14th July 2023 while one Collins Omonoba Ikhihibhojere who was the Security Agent of the Labour Party was also attacked and injured badly.
According to tips from a member of the community who pleaded to be anonymous, Collins Omonoba Ikhihibhojere has since run with his family after several threats to his life and that of his family.
Till the time of filling this information, Collins Omonoba Ikhihibhojere and his officials are still being searched for by the thugs, and the Eputu community and other parts of Nigeria remain a strong hole for political thugs.
