Goodluck E. Adubazi, Abuja.
John Mahama has been sworn in as the 14th President of Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey. In his inaugural speech, Mahama assured Ghanaians of “a new dawn” and pledged to prioritize inclusivity, champion inclusive decisions, and establish a 24-hour economy.
This inauguration is historic, given Ghana’s smooth transition of power. Mahama’s speech highlighted his commitment to creating a more inclusive and vibrant economy. His promise of a 24-hour economy is particularly noteworthy, as it aims to boost economic activity and create more opportunities for Ghanaians.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Nigeria’s President Tinubu and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda. Mahama’s inauguration marks the beginning of his second non-consecutive term as President, having previously served from 2012 to 2017.
