Bullion Vans seen at Tinubu’s House missed their way – APC Secretary, Nigerians React
The All Progressive Congress organizing secretary in Lagos State, Ayodele Adewale, has claimed the bullion vans seen driving into Bola Tinubu’s residence on the eve of the 2019 presidential election “missed its way there.”
“That bullion van missed its way there, and it was not invited by Asiwaju or anybody,” Mr. Adewale said on Arise TV on Thursday morning.
The statement, however, runs counter to Tinubu’s claims, who acknowledged that the bullion vans he had parked in his Bourdillon home on election eve did indeed contain money and not ballots as his opponents had claimed.
Tinubu, the ruling party’s presidential candidate for the 25 February election, said he was at liberty to bring his money to his house while addressing reporters in 2019.
“Bullion vans? Are those ballot papers? “Excuse me, is it my money or government money? I don’t work for government,” the former Lagos Governor had stated.
“I am not in (any) agency of government. Let anybody come out to say I have taken any contract from the government of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last five years.”
He added: “They should prove it. I am on my own, and I am committed to my party. So, even if I have money to spend on my premises. What is your headache?”
Comrade Adewale, however, insisted that the former Lagos Governor was joking when he made the statement.
The APC Secretary’s comment about the bullion vans has since set tongues wagging on various social media platforms.
Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Dr. GoodluckJonathan, on Thursday, shared a 2019 video of Tinuburesponding to a question asked by a reporter about the bullion vans.
Tinubu asked if the vans were ballot papers and even if indeed they contain money, it’s belongs to him as he doesn’t work for any government agencies.
Reno said: “The funniest thing is that Even The Tinubu himself admitted that the bullion vans were his and that their presence in his house was nobody’s business!
“Prayer Point: May bullion vans miss their way and land in your house! If you believe, shout a big amen in the comment section!”
In another tweet, Reno who is an ardent supporter of AtikuAbubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, said: “Bullion vans got lost and entered Tinubu’s house by mistake? Really? APC is that how gullible you think Nigerians are? Over 2 million houses in Lagos, and the bullion vans did not see any of them to get lost in. They conveniently chose to get lost in Bourdillon?”
MBAH, a social media commentator, weighed in saying: “This people think say we dey wear pampers 😂”
Singer Paul Okoye of PSquare reacted, noting: “Just heard the biggest lie on arisetv 🤣🤣🤣 so bullion van can mistakenly enter somebody’s house 🤣 on Election Day 🤣🤣🤣”
“Yes the Van Missed road… Yet you opened the Gate for both.😁fear God oh!!!” @benjiwoks tweeted.
Activist, Rinu Oduala who was surprised by the recent interview said, “Ah, ah, ah, Tinubu! Import and export!”
“The gate of my house has been open since morning.
“How long do I have to wait for bullion vans to mistakenly enter? 🤔,” she later tweeted.
In the same vein, @karlomege tweeted: “All of them miss road so? They reached his gate and the gate was opened for them and closed. They stayed for hours before leaving. Maybe Baba blu in his usual ‘generosity’ has to offer the drivers that missed road food and drink before they left for the actual address. Smh.”
@trueAFICIONANDO said: “Okay. We pray that the owner of that 🏠 house should also miss his way to Aso Rock while another candidate gets there and is eventually sworn in as Nigeria’s next president.
