Pay 5M Or We Kidnap You, Ogun Kidnappers Threaten Cow Dealer

Police in Ogun State have arrested two suspected kidnappers for attempting to abduct one Suleiman Mohammed at Imeko in Imeko Afon Local Government Area of the state
The suspects equally threatened Mohammed on phone to pay a sum of N 5,000,000 within a week or else they would come to kidnap him
They were : Umar Usman and Muhammed Ibrahim
The suspects were arrested on March 9, 2022 following a report lodged at Imeko divisional headquarters by the victim that unknown persons were calling to kidnap him
He said that the people were calling his mobile phone with hiding number that they would soon abduct him unless he paid 5,000,000 within a week or sell his cows to raise the money.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Oyeyemi said that upon the report, the DPO Imeko division, CSP Ubine Eugine, led his detectives to embarked on technical and intelligence based investigation which led to the arrest of the suspects at their hideout in Iwoye and Idofa forest.
“On interrogation, the suspects who confessed knowing their victim very well informed the police that they decided to kidnap the man in order to cough out money from him, because if they ask him for financial assistance, he will not do it.” he said
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti kidnapping unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
The CP also directed that efforts must be on top gear to arrest other members of the gang.
