Hon. Kola Balogun Hakeem is a promising politician and one of the sons of the late great Ibadan indigene, labour activist, sports enthusiast, politician, business entrepreneur and a man of many parts, late Abdul – Ghani Kolawole Balogun who was the first Chairman, Ibadan Municipal Government (IMG) 1977-1979 with 29 councillors/officials, and zonal executive chairman/coordinator, LOC NIG. 99 (World Cup), has declared his intention to join the murky politics in the country, with the view of bettering the lots of his constituents and also advancing socio-economic development
Balogun, a journalist, Cleric and a business entrepreneur who stated this while addressing party members in Ibadan, hinted that “he is eyeing the Federal House of Representative from his base – Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal constituency, Oyo State, under the PDP platform.
The young politician counselled party members and Nigerians that votes should based on trust on the candidates to deliver on electoral promises and party manifestoes, rather than how much money a political party or candidate can offer on Election Day.
He further charged Nigerians of voting age to register and obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC), so as to participate actively in enthroning credible leaders in the 2023 general election.
He also asserted that the painful general hardship flowing from the country’s socio-economic crisis has affected all Nigerians, just as all hands must be on deck to resolve the challenges.
The Politician and Evangelist wondered why should Nigeria which produces crude oil be exporting crude and importing refined petroleum products and Nigerians continue to suffer under the weight of fuel scarcity.
