Buhari to inaugurate Ijebu-Ode/Epe Expressway January 13

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday, January 13, embark on an official State visit to Ogun State.

Kunle Somorin, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abiodun, in a statement on Sunday said during the visit, the President will inaugurate some of the infrastructural projects executed by Governor Dapo Abiodun, including the newly reconstructed Ijebu-Ode/Epe expressway.

President Buhari will be welcomed at the Gateway City Gate Monument Park, Sagamu Interchange, at 10a.m, where he will commission the first project.

The statement added that apart from the Gateway City Gate, other projects expected to be inaugurated along with the Ijebu-Ode Mojoda-Epe expressway, include two housing estates: the 527-unit low & medium Kobape Housing scheme Kobape and the highbrow, 83 duplexes at Kings Court Estate at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

All invited guests are expected to be seated by 9.30a.m at the City Gate by the Sagamu Interchange and Abeokuta expressway, while observing all COVID-19 safety protocols strictly.

APC postpones Ekiti Guber Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its governorship primary election in Ekiti state earlier slated for Saturday, January 22.

An official notice issued on Sunday by the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, stated that in the revised timetable, the exercise will now be held on Saturday January 27.

“In accordance with provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, the All Progressives Congress has released a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of the 2022 Governorship Primary Election in Ekiti State.

“Sale of Forms (APC National Secretariat): Tuesday 16th November, 2021; Last Day for Submission of Completed Forms and accompanying documents (APC National Secretariat): Saturday 15th January, 2022 while Screening of Aspirants holds on Tuesday 18th January, 2022

“Publication of claims and objections is held on Thursday 20th January, 2022; Screening Appeals, Sunday 23rd January, 2022 and Primary Election to be held on Thursday 27th January, 2022.

“The party fixed the sale of the forms at N22.5million. While the nomination form costs N20 million, the expression of interest form costs N2.5million. However, female aspirants and physically challenged aspirants are to pay 50% of the prescribed fees”, the statement read.
